BIODIESEL SYSTEMS
Global Biomass Fuels, LLC biodiesel systems provide a production capacity from 3 million gallons to 120 million gallons per year. System processing units can accommodate any vegetable oil or animal fat with a Free Fatty Acid (FFA) of 5% or less and consistently produce biodiesel fuel complaint with ASTM D6751. A fully integrated system can handle complete processing of feedstock to extract the seed oil and through transesterification to obtain biodiesel fuel and glycerin. Subsystems involving crushing, transesterification and glycerin processing can be arranged as separate units depending on the owner's requirements. SOLUTIONS AND SERVICES
Global Biomass Fuels, LLC provides a level of solution and service that best meets an owner's requirements for a biodiesel system. Options can involve:
1. Total Turn Key System. Global Biomass Fuels, LLC designs, builds, installs, and operates the biodiesel system for the owner. Employees are educated and trained. A hallmark quality system is defined, implemented and followed.
2. Subsystem Unit Only. Global Biomass Fuels, LLC designs and builds the subsystem unit that meets the owner's requirements i.e. crushing plant, biodiesel plant, glycerin processing. The owner provides the facility and support services to accommodate the subsystem unit. The owner installs the subsystem unit per Global Biomass Fuels, LLC specifications. Global Biomass Fuels, LLC educates and trains employees and provides a hallmark quality system.
BIODIESEL PLANT FEATURES AND SERVICES
Quality
Quality begins with biodiesel plant design. The design incorporates advanced Brazilian engineering methods and techniques suitable for oleo-chemical processing. During the building and installation phases, compliance to specifications is executed via a proven quality assurance process. Quality assurance for plant operation uses six sigma management and statistical process control to best ensure consistent top quality biodiesel fuel that meets the ASTM D6751 standard.
Continuous Process Flow
The biodiesel plant operates with a continuous flow process. This process uses a supply control system for injection of the proper amounts of feedstock, methanol and catalyst. Plant employees are required to keep material tanks replenished. The biodiesel plant operates on a 3 shift, 24 hour basis. A continuous flow process best ensures biodiesel fuel that meets required quality standards.
Zero Waste Stream
The systems that comprise the biodiesel plant are completely sealed and portions of the subsystems are under vacuum. This eliminates leakage issues. Also, advanced methanol evaporation and recovery systems are used.
Process Chemicals
All input materials (catalyst, methanol and feedstock) are introduced for processing within the biodiesel plant system through a non-contact handling arrangement. This avoids the situation of worker exposure to caustic chemicals.
Process Control
As mentioned in the above Quality section, statistical process control combined with real time data gathered at critical points along the processing chain best ensures fuel quality. A computer control system integrates real time data of all pumps, valves, fluid flow rates, temperatures and processes. System intervention is minimized for operators due to pre-set values for critical parameters. The system is monitored and controlled with closed circuit video and touch screen computers. Prevention is practiced with corrective action as required.
Environmental Friendly
Once transesterification is achieved, the final step for the biodiesel fuel involves removal of water through a distillation process. This is an environmental friendly step since an acid subprocess to accomplished water removal is not necessary. The biodiesel fuel produced exhibits better cloud and viscosity (pour point) factors.
ASTM Specification
Global Biomass Fuels, LLC certifies that the biodiesel fuel produced will conform to ASTM D6751 specification provided the feedstock, methanol, and catalyst specifications and the statisitical process control are applied per Global Biomass Fuels, LLC specifications for operating the biodiesel plant.
Education and Training
Regardless of whether the biodiesel plant owner or Global Biomass Fuels, LLC operate the plant, Global Biomass Fuels, LLC will educate and cross-train all plant employees in the safe and cost effective operation of all systems and processes. This will involve two weeks of education and training and competency demonstration by each employee. The number of employees receiving the education and training will be determined by the size of the plant.
Technical Support Service
Global Biomass Fuels, LLC wants each plant owner to be successful. It is policy. In this regard, Global Biomass Fuels, LLC provides each owner with 24 hour techinical support via a special 1-800 telephone number and emergency on-site technician support. Global Biomass Fuels, LLC will conduct at the owner's request, regular operational assessments and will work with the owner to ensure corrections are completed.
Warranty
Global Biomass Fuels, LLC provides a warranty of two years on parts and labor provided the plant is operated in full compliance with Global Biomass Fuels, LLC specifications.
